Early July Update
Howdy friend! How are you? I hope you are well.
A lot has been going on in my life since my last post and I wanted to update you on how I’m currently doing as well as any plans I have going on.
Unfortunately my wonderful grandmother passed away, but I’m glad she’s no longer in any sort of pain or suffering. Every day without her is a big journey. I feel like I have to climb a mountain every time I wake up. She was a big motivator for me making my art, so I’m at a little bit of a loss, but I will find my groove again. It will just take some time. My grandfather, I call him Grampo, requested me to make some art for him and that really helped me to see I can still continue even if my Gramma isn’t physically here anymore.
Me and my grandmother together. This is the only picture we could find of us together. I loved the Dora dollhouse I got!
As for what I am planning on doing to push myself forward out of this rut, I am planning on possibly making some digital products, like a zine or maybe some digital calendar pages and things like that. I think it’d be a good idea to have a more immediate product that people don’t have to wait to get.
First, I want to take it easy on myself and do some simple drawing studies just to make sure I don’t get burned out while I’m already feeling drained. I’m going to also be looking through my art study books to get some inspiration back. I’ve already posted a couple on Instagram and Facebook. One is of a girl in a bathing suit and the other is of me! It’s a new profile picture.
I also want to eventually sell some crochet items! I started making scrunchies, let me know with a comment if you’d be interested in these things too. I also plan on making some bag charms. I started crocheting a cropped halter top, but that is proving to be a little more challenging since I’m halfway through before realizing all of the other people using the pattern have said to size up… I hope it will fit me!
I did put up some more items in both my shop here and on Etsy, so if you are interested in the Swimming Hands print or Overwhelming Light print I suggest checking it out! I put up some tote bags too. Hopefully eventually I will be able to have extra products stored in the future so they can be shipped faster. Right now, everything is being made on demand, so it can be a little slower at times. I appreciate your support and patience! Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Bye for now,
Your friend Jules
